Patch 3.2 · Season 14 and the Warlock rebalance
May 19, 2026 · Season 14
The first big balance pass after Reign of the Warlock, refined on the April PTR: the Warlock is reined in across its three trees, Heralds and Latent Sunder Charms are reworked, the Colossal Ancients get tougher and WASD movement comes back.
Ladder Season 14
- Season 14 started on May 22 at 5 p.m. PDT (May 23 in Europe and Asia); the patch itself went live three days earlier, on May 19.
- Season 13 characters moved to non-ladder with their shared stash items in withdraw-only tabs, and anything still left there from Season 12 was deleted.
Warlock: general and Chaos
- A two-handed weapon can now only be held in one hand if the other hand carries a grimoire.
- Health potions heal the Warlock for 150% instead of 100%, like other classes with a similar playstyle.
- Ring of Fire and Flame Wave deal less base damage; Flame Wave loses about 15%.
- Miasma Bolt's direct hit is weaker, while its cloud keeps its damage and no longer deals an extra hit when it fades.
- Miasma Chain loses its cast delay, but active chains are capped (from 5 up to 10) and each chain can hit a monster only once per second.
- Abyss is capped at an 11-yard radius, and Sigil: Lethargy loses its damage-taken effect but now works on hostile players.
Warlock: Eldritch
- Echoing Strike uses 90% of weapon damage (up from 75%), adds its damage bonuses instead of multiplying them and no longer always hits.
- Echoing Strike still doesn't wear down weapon durability: the fix tested on the PTR was rolled back, good news for ethereal weapons.
- Eldritch Blast's life and mana steal is now a flat 5% (it used to range from 5% to 20%).
- Mirrored Blades now shows its attack rating, repeats while the button is held on a controller, and with bows its first missile no longer gets the mirrors' damage modifier.
Warlock: Demon
- Bind Demon needs hard points to bind elites: 10 for champions, 15 for uniques and 20 for super uniques.
- The bind chance starts at 20% and climbs with diminishing returns toward 56%; it now rolls once per second instead of 12 times, and a sound warns you when a bind can't work.
- Bound demons have a life cap that varies by demon, and aura-enchanted ones switch to a fixed new aura (Conviction becomes Fanaticism, Might becomes Concentration and so on).
- Demonic Mastery needs hard points for extra demons, but fewer: 5 for a second demon and 10 for a third; its attack speed bonus is capped at 25%.
- Blood Oath now passes 3% (level 1) to 25% (level 20) of the damage you take to your demon, and Consume gives bigger bonuses for demons from harder difficulties.
- Summon Tainted's Blood Boil synergy drops from 30% to 20% but actually works now, and Blood Boil's radius grows from 5 to 7 yards as it levels.
Terror Zones and Heralds
- Any kill inside a Terror Zone can now send a Herald after you, and the chance grows with every monster you kill in that zone.
- A lightning storm over the slain monster gives you 5 seconds of warning, and Herald tiers now rise when one spawns, not when one dies.
- Heralds above tier 1 are easier: each tier adds 250% life (was 500%) and 25% damage (was 50%).
- Latent Sunder Charms can drop from any monster, terrorized or not, thanks to Magic Find.
- The Herald bonus to drop them now starts at tier 1, doubles at tiers 3 and 4 and triples at tier 5; like Worldstone Shards, it no longer depends on player count, which helps solo players.
- Heralds drop unique, set and rare items slightly less often, in line with super unique monsters.
Colossal Ancients
- Act bosses outside Terror Zones can now drop Ancient statues too, at a lower rate.
- The Colossals' magic resistance goes from 50% to 75%, part of a push to make the fight harder for builds that found it too easy.
- The summoned Colossal Barbarians keep spawning, up to five at once.
- Talic's whirlwind and fire twisters, Korlic's cold fissure and Madawc's thunderstorm deal more damage.
Quality of life
- Bindable keyboard movement (WASD) is back after its brief trial in 2024.
- Chronicle rewards no longer unequip when you join a game or die, and the Chronicle works better with a controller.
- With a controller you can take three items at once out of the advanced stash tabs, and gold hidden by the loot filter is picked up automatically again.
- Items other than runes can be quick-moved from the inventory to the personal or shared stash again.
- More than twenty fixes for menus, consoles and handhelds (Nintendo Switch docking among them) and for joining games in other regions.
July follow-ups (3.2.0.1 and 3.2.0.2)
- 3.2.0.1 (July 14, Steam): the game's data was reorganized; it took one full re-download, but small patches no longer trigger huge downloads.
- 3.2.0.2 (July 16): characters that wouldn't load with Mosaic unlocked in the Chronicle and a crafted Mosaic item in the shared stash load again.
- It also fixed saves that failed to load after summoning an Iron Golem from an item holding a Colossal Ancients jewel while wearing another one.
